Soirée de reconnaissance 2025: The Ville de Saint-Lambert pays tribute to 21 citizens

Yesterday, November 13, 2025, Mayor Loïc Blancquaert welcomed volunteers from Saint-Lambert and the winners of the Lambertois awards to the traditional Recognition Evening organized in their honor.

Lambertois Awards

The ceremony began with the presentation of the Lambertois Awards, which pay tribute to citizens whose remarkable careers and achievements contribute to the community's reputation and well-being.

"Whether in the professional, cultural, athletic, or community spheres, the individuals honored tonight embody excellence, self-improvement, and commitment. Through their inspiring example, they illustrate the power of civic engagement and the positive impact we can have on our community,"
said the mayor.

Lambertois Award Winners:

  • Natalie Henri | Lambertois Award for “Heart and Action”
    For her commitment throughout her teaching career to the inclusion and independence of people with special needs.
  • Guy Saint-Jacques | Lambertois Award for Professional Life
    For his exceptional diplomatic career, marked by more than 30 years of service to Canada, notably as ambassador to China.
  • Hugues Létourneau | Lambertois Award for Community Engagement
    For his sustained commitment over nearly five decades, implementing projects for children, people with disabilities, and newcomers, while supporting initiatives for sustainable mobility, social housing, and the circular economy.
  • Christian Viau | Lambertois Award for Sports
    For founding 30 years ago, then structuring and leading to success, the 40+ Softball League, now recognized for its dynamism and ability to evolve, as evidenced by the launch of a two-team women's division in 2023.
  • Louise Poulin and Sylvie Dion – L’Entreclefs | Lambertois Award for Culture and Society
    For founding L’Entreclefs, an organization that has been promoting intergenerational exchanges in Saint-Lambert since 2016 through creative projects that strengthen the social fabric.
  • Bryan Wallis | Lambertois Award for Sports
    For his central role, notably as president of the Saint-Lambert Soccer Association, in the development and promotion of soccer, as well as for his initiatives aimed at preserving the sport and making it more inclusive.
  • Pierre Lepage | Lambertois Award for Community Engagement
    For his project to refurbish bicycles for newcomers, thereby facilitating their integration while promoting sustainable mobility and healthy lifestyles.

The Ville de Saint-Lambert also took the opportunity to highlight the work of the Lambertois Award Committee members: Jill Lacoursière, Monette St-Jacques, Louise Rousseau, and François Vary.

Year after year, they invest their time and energy in proposing and reviewing nominations from exceptional citizens so that they can receive the recognition they deserve.

Tribute to volunteers

The evening continued with the announcement of the 2025 volunteers of the year, whose unwavering commitment to our local organizations ensures the vitality and well-being of the community.

"Without our volunteers, our city would not be what it is today. Their sustained commitment is a testament to a true culture of solidarity. The time and effort they devote are essential to the vitality of our community and its organizations. This evening is an opportunity to express our gratitude to them and to highlight the remarkable impact of their volunteer work on their fellow citizens," explained Mr. Blancquaert.

  • David Tremblay | Saint-Lambert Baseball Association
    For his ongoing commitment to young baseball players, to whom he passionately teaches not only the techniques of the sport, but also essential values such as respect, perseverance, and teamwork.
  • Jean-François Mercier | Saint-Lambert Minor Hockey Association
    A pillar of the Red Wings, he has served as coach, administrator, and president, putting his energy and passion to work for the development and fulfillment of young hockey players.
  • Frances Hudon | Association des femmes diplômées des universités – Montérégie
    A founding member and true backbone of the association, she stands out for her constant dedication. Through her passion and availability, she helps promote the organization's mission and values.
  • Antoine Chawky | Saint-Lambert Soccer Association
    Actively involved in the association since 2010 as a coach, team manager, and board member, he inspires others with his generosity and commitment to the development of soccer.
  • Murielle Beauchamp | Saint-Lambert Lawn Bowling Club
    Versatile and committed, she trains new players, organizes events to promote the club, and supports the administrative team, making her the cornerstone of the organization.
  • Gary Denham | Saint-Lambert Curling Club
    A long-time member and accomplished player, he ensures the smooth running of the club, notably by managing orders and inventory, and recently volunteered to build furniture for the lobby, demonstrating his generosity and deep commitment to the organization.
  • Mia Saurélie Dumarsais | Les Tornades Water Polo Club
    A Grade 10 student, she has been coaching a young athlete with a disability for several seasons. In doing so, she promotes the development of his full potential, while setting an example of inclusion and solidarity among her peers.
  • Christiane Laurin | Saint-Lambert Seniors' Council
    An enthusiastic and dedicated volunteer, she stands out for her generosity, availability, and good humor. Her engaging personality enriches the experience of seniors who participate in activities. She perfectly embodies the spirit of volunteerism.
  • Isabelle Brosseau | Saint-Lambert Figure Skating Club
    President of the club since 2020, she has been passionately involved for over ten years. She has modernized the club's practices and developed new activities, while placing the enjoyment and respect of skaters at the heart of her actions.
  • Suzanne Lanctôt | Fondation des amis de la bibliothèque de Saint-Lambert
    An extraordinary volunteer and president of the foundation since 2020, she contributes to the library's reputation and the cultural development of the community through her caring and dynamic leadership.
  • Maeva Laflamme and Matis Laflamme | L’Entreclefs
    A 15-year-old brother and sister in Grade 10, they are actively involved in many of L’Entreclefs’ community projects. Their enthusiasm and constant commitment are eloquent examples of the spirit of sharing that is at the heart of the organization’s mission.
  • Lorraine Guillet | Photo Club Arémac
    An active member for over 40 years and former chair of the board of directors, she devotes her time, energy, and passion to supporting the club's mission, inspiring everyone around her.
  • Jean-Jacques Grill | Saint-Lambert Choral Society
    President of the choral society and an exceptional volunteer, he stands out for his unifying leadership, which he demonstrates on a daily basis and which guarantees the organization's success and sustainability.
