The mayor of the Ville de Saint-Lambert, Mr. Loïc Blancquaert, announced today that Ms. Myrabelle Chicoine will be taking over as interim general director. She succeeds Mr. Sylvain Villeneuve, who had accepted the position until last November's elections.

“During the election campaign, I committed to undertaking a process of change aimed at optimizing the performance of the municipal administration, strengthening the relationship of trust between the municipal council and the management team, and implementing citizen consultation mechanisms,” Mayor Blancquaert recalled. “A first step in this direction has just been taken with the arrival of Ms. Chicoine, and we are proud to welcome her to the executive management team. Her ability to mobilize teams and lead large-scale projects will help move Saint-Lambert forward and provide citizens with an administration that meets their expectations.”

The City will benefit from her 25 years of experience in the municipal sector, where she has conducted numerous organizational assessments and implemented smooth transitions. Ms. Chicoine takes the helm of the municipal administration with a commitment to mobilize all teams and partners around the City's priorities.

An experienced manager with degrees in urban studies and business administration, Ms. Chicoine is also a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, making her a seasoned professional in process improvement.

“I am excited to begin this mandate in Saint-Lambert. My priority will be to ensure effective and transparent management, while promoting innovation and collaboration to meet the current and future needs of the people of Saint-Lambert,” explains Ms. Chicoine.

Her mandate will consist of ensuring continuity of services, supporting socio-economic development, and working with the municipal council, employees, residents, and civil society stakeholders to develop a shared vision for Saint-Lambert, while promoting agile and efficient ways of working that will enable the community to respond to changing needs.

The mayor would like to thank Mr. Sylvain Villeneuve for his work over the past six months. He quickly gained the trust of the council and the administration despite the period of uncertainty generated by the upcoming municipal elections. He navigated this environment masterfully, with his characteristic quiet strength. "On behalf of my colleagues on the council and the municipal administration, I salute his commitment and wish him a happy return to retirement," concluded Mr. Blancquaert.
