A section of Riverside Street will be closed from April 20 through the end of May.

Published on 20 Apr 2026

Due to modernization work planned by the Longueuil agglomeration at the Le Royer plant, Riverside Street will be completely closed to traffic between Fort and Edison avenues from April 20 to the end of May.

The work involves replacing the flow meter and valves. These upgrades are necessary to improve the plant’s reliability and ensure the security of the Longueuil agglomeration’s water supply. A first phase of work was completed in the fall of 2025.

There may be occasional drops in water pressure. However, this situation poses no health risk.

Contact the Citizen Service Centre by calling 311 or emailing 311@longueuil.quebec only if you notice very low water pressure (a very weak trickle of water).

We ask motorists and cyclists to follow the detour signs in place and to be careful when travelling.
