About the process
The revision of the 2020-2022 Family and Seniors Policy is part of the Ville de Saint-Lambert's commitment to continuously improve its services by taking into account the current needs of the population, demographic changes, and the new realities experienced by families and seniors in Saint-Lambert.
Specifically, it aims to better adapt municipal infrastructure, services, and programs, promote active participation in community and civic life, and create an environment where people enjoy living. Over the past five years, several concrete actions have been taken in this direction, including the installation of senior-friendly street furniture in two city parks and the enhancement of recreational activities for young families.
In addition, the new policy is part of our commitment to maintaining our status as a Municipalité amie des aînés (MADA), which we obtained in 2020. This recognition highlights the actions taken by the city to prepare for the future and promote active aging in our community.
Key steps
Conducted in collaboration with Espace MUNI, an organization recognized for its expertise in helping municipalities improve the overall health and quality of life of their citizens, this process is based on a series of structured steps: understanding the social environment, identifying priority issues, and then developing a concerted action plan to be approved by the municipal council.
Over the next year, the Ville de Saint-Lambert will invite citizens to participate in the process. To gather their ideas and aspirations, several public consultations will be conducted, including online surveys and focus groups. It is essential for the Ville to make this process transparent and accessible to the entire community.
The process of renewing the Family and Seniors Policy will continue over several months, and its implementation will begin in 2027. It will guide our actions until 2031.
