Summer can finally begin: the water attractions at Alexandra Park are opening their doors to the Lambertois community

Surrounded by project partners and numerous community members who had come to take part in the festivities, Laporte MNA Isabelle Poulet and Saint-Lambert Mayor Loïc Blancquaert officially inaugurated the new aquatic facilities at Alexandra Park on July 1.
To mark this highly anticipated opening, the Ville de Saint-Lambert had organized a very special day filled with entertainment and activities so that the residents of Saint-Lambert could embrace this new, modern, accessible, and community-building space. Young and old alike were invited to enjoy the facilities—which are sure to quickly become a summer staple—in a festive atmosphere.
This investment of just under $7 million—including a $2.69 million grant from the Financial Assistance Program for Recreational, Sports, and Outdoor Infrastructure (PAFIRSPA)—enabled the complete reconstruction of the site. The project includes the construction of a new, more spacious chalet; a wading pool with a beach-style entry and built-in water play features; and a swimming pool featuring lap lanes, more open swimming space, and a large slide. Universally accessible amenities have also been incorporated so that everyone can fully enjoy the facility. Landscaping designed to maximize greenery and reduce heat islands, along with modern street furniture, complete the site, contributing to users’ comfort and relaxation.
Beyond the facilities themselves, the completion of this project creates a true summer gathering place in the heart of the municipality. The design was carefully planned to foster social interaction, encourage healthy lifestyles, and provide a welcoming environment where people can enjoy the best that summer has to offer—for years to come.

They help revitalize our regions and strengthen the social fabric of our communities. These spaces play a central role in our communities and allow people of all ages and from all walks of life to come together, engage in physical activities, and have fun. I am delighted for the residents of Saint-Lambert and the surrounding area, who will be able to enjoy this new pool to play their favorite sports and water games for fun and refreshment.”

“The opening of the new aquatic facilities at Alexandra Park is the culmination of a project that holds great promise for the entire community. From the very beginning, I have been committed to supporting this initiative, which meets the needs of families and helps improve the quality of life for the residents of Saint-Lambert. Today, I am delighted to see this project come to life and become a true hub for community gathering, recreation, and well-being. This achievement demonstrates what can be accomplished when different partners work together in the community’s best interest. I hope that residents will fully enjoy these new facilities for many years to come. ”
Isabelle Poulet, Member of the National Assembly for Laporte
“Seeing the delighted faces of families and children discovering this fabulous site for the first time, one immediately understands just how eagerly our community had been awaiting this project. These positive reactions demonstrate the importance of providing our residents with modern, accessible, and welcoming local services.
These new aquatic facilities at Alexandra Park will be the setting for countless memories over the summers to come: first times playing in the water, learning to swim, neighbors getting to know one another, and moments shared with family and friends. It is, therefore, a living legacy that we wish to pass on to our community. I would like to extend my warmest thanks to the Government of Quebec and all of our partners who have helped make this vision a reality—one of which we can be truly proud.”
Loïc Blancquaert, Mayor of Saint-Lambert
