Freezing rain warning: Please be careful!

Published on 10 Mar 2026

Significant freezing rain is expected in our region on Wednesday, March 11. These conditions could make travel difficult and cause power outages. We urge you to take the necessary precautions

Closure of municipal buildings
All citizen service counters will be closed all day on Wednesday, March 11.
Citizens are invited to contact services by phone at 450-672-4444 or by email. The library and recreation center will be closed until noon, and morning classes at the recreation center are suspended. An update will be posted Wednesday morning following a reassessment of the situation.

General safety tips

Generators and space heaters

In the event of a power outage, be careful when using generators or space heaters:

  • Set up your generator outside, away from the building, and make sure you have a carbon monoxide detector in the house.
  • Use space heaters according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Never use outdoor appliances indoors for heating or cooking (BBQs, camping stoves, patio heaters, etc.).
  • To prevent carbon monoxide poisoning: Monoxyde de carbone | Santé Montérégie Portal.

Monitoring the situation

The City is monitoring the situation closely and its teams are already in response mode.

  • Starting tonight, de-icing agents will be spread on streets and sidewalks to limit ice accumulation. We thank residents for leaving sufficient space between their vehicles and the curb to facilitate operations.
  • The forestry team is also on high alert. Broken branches will be cleared as they are found. If you see branches piled up at the side of the road, leave them where they are and our teams will come and collect them later.
  • To report a dangerous branch that has not been removed, please submit a request : Ville de Saint-Lambert | Reporting non-urgent issues.

Operations will continue on an ongoing basis and will be adapted in real time to weather conditions and priorities.

For any situation that poses a threat to health and safety and requires immediate intervention, please call 911.

Thank you for your vigilance over the next few hours.
