Change in emergency alert system: The Ville de Saint-Lambert invites residents to sign up for its emergency alerts via the Citizen Portal

Published on 08 Oct 2025

The Ville de Saint-Lambert wishes to inform residents that, as of December 31, 2025, the system previously used to send emergency alerts will no longer be operational. All residents must register for alerts through the new Saint-Lambert Citizen Portal to continue receiving emergency notifications.

Registration on this new portal, launched last July, is the only option for receiving direct notifications by phone, email, or text message about emergency situations requiring citizen action, whether it be a boil water advisory, weather alert, shelter-in-place order, or evacuation order.

Recently, between September 27 and 30, a preventive boil water advisory affected the entire territory. The City used the database from the old system and the new Citizen Portal to reach as many citizens as possible. However, the database from the old system, which contains a large number of citizen contact details, will not be transferred to the new one. That is why it is really important for every citizen to register now on the Citizen Portal.

Registration is quick and easy: simply create an account at citoyen.saint-lambert.ca. The user-friendly portal allows you to:

  • choose to receive alerts via your preferred method of communication (email, text message, or phone call);
  • be quickly informed of the emergency situation and the instructions to follow;
  • receive targeted notifications thanks to geolocation;
  • manage your file online and change your contact information and preferences at any time;

In addition to automated alerts, the Ville de Saint-Lambert provides the public with other tools to keep them informed during an emergency: website, variable message panels, Facebook page, etc.

Other municipal notices

Citizens who wish to do so may also choose to subscribe to other types of municipal notices via the Citizen Space:

  • Collections reminders
  • Culture and leisure
  • Environment
  • Minor incidents and works
  • Info-snow removal
  • Community life

Starting in the winter of 2025-2026, notices of overnight street parking bans during snow removal operations will also be sent via the Citizen Space. Anyone who was previously registered to receive these notices must re-register via the Citizen Portal before December 1, 2025, when the nighttime parking ban during snow removal begins.

Questions?

Residents who do not have an email address or who need help registering for the Citizen Portal can contact the City at 450-672-4444.
