The concert “Legend of Hard Bop: Kenny Dorham,” presented by the Quiet Quintet, is a tribute to the memory and legacy of Kenny Dorham, one of the most influential yet underrated trumpeters in African-American jazz of the 1950s and 1960s. Hard Bop, which emerged in the 1950s, revitalized jazz with influences from blues, gospel, and R&B. More intense and groovy, it features catchy melodies, percussive rhythms, and fiery solos!
