Seaway Park: A new safe and enjoyable synthetic playing surface for sports enthusiasts
Published on 03 Sep 2025
The Ville de Saint-Lambert proudly inaugurated today the brand new surface for the PVM3 synthetic turf field at Seaway Park.
Installed in 2010, the old surface had reached the end of its useful life. It showed clear signs of deterioration: flattened fibers, uneven infill, loss of athletic performance, and a noticeable decrease in playing comfort. The facility was therefore becoming less safe for users, increasing the risk of injury.
To reduce the environmental impact of the work, the City also made sure that the existing granules and turf were collected by the contractor for recycling.
The new field now provides better shock absorption, optimized playing comfort, and consistent ball roll and bounce quality, meeting the expectations of athletes, citizens, and members of the Saint-Lambert student community.
“The renovation of the field was essential to ensure a safe playing environment. We are proud to be able to offer our community and our school partners a high-quality facility. Our sports facilities are at the heart of life in Saint-Lambert. It is essential that they remain modern and accessible to the entire population,” concluded Mayor Pascale Mongrain
