A preventive boil water advisory will be in effect on September 27 starting at 8 p.m. throughout the territory of Saint-Lambert, in Brossard, as well as in the borough of Greenfield Park and the Le Moyne sector in Longueuil.
This preventive boil water advisory will be in effect for a minimum of 48 hours due to the first phase of work planned by the Ville de Longueuil at the Le Royer drinking water production plant, located on Riverside Street in Saint-Lambert.
The planned work will involve replacing valves and inspecting a main pipe at the plant's outlet. These interventions are essential to ensure the reliability of the network and secure the water supply to the cities and areas served by the Le Royer plant. They will also allow for the replacement of a flow meter to meet government requirements.
This work also involves reversing the flow of water in the main pipes, which could affect water quality, requiring a preventive boil water advisory to be issued.
Impact on water use starting Saturday, September 27, at 8 p.m.
Preventive boil water advisory for a minimum of 48 hours
- Boil water for at least one minute before use (drinking, cooking, baby bottles, ice cubes, brushing teeth) until further notice.
- Visit the Boil water advisories webpage for additional advice.
- Let the cold water run, preferably in the bathtub, until it becomes clear again, then boil it for one minute before consuming it.
Possible drop in water pressure
- There may be a drop in water pressure, particularly in apartments located on higher floors (4th floor and above). For the residences concerned, before September 27 at 8 p.m., it is advisable to stock up on water (for 1 to 2 days, approximately 2 to 3 liters per person).
- Please contact our general telephone line at 450-672-4444 only if you have no water or if you notice a significant drop in pressure (very low water flow).
During this first phase of work, which will begin on the evening of September 27, residents are asked to reduce their water usage to help maintain sufficient water supply for everyone. The work is expected to be completed on Monday, September 29.
