Rehabilitation of Plamondon Boulevard
2019-09-11 - Paving of phase 2
If weather conditions permit, the contractor will proceed on Thursday, September 12, 2019 to the paving of Phase 2 of rehabilitation of Plamondon Boulevard.
From 7 a.m. and throughout the duration of the work, traffic will be more restricted. Garage entrances will not be accessible and the intersections of Plamondon Crescent and Navarre Street will be temporarily closed. We encourage you to plan your trips accordingly and to park your vehicle in an adjacent street if you need to use it at a specific time.
We are aware of the possible disadvantages caused by this work. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Starting July 22, the City of Saint-Lambert will rebuild the surface of Plamondon Boulevard between Simard and the Brossard city limit. This work is necessary due to the deteriorated condition of the street. This work involves the following steps:
- Complete pulverization of the paving and part of the foundation, and construction of a new road surface afterwards;
- Reconstruction of some sections of sidewalk;
- Reconfiguration of the curbs of some medians to integrate the pedestrian crossing;
- Complete reconstruction of the edges of the central median strip;
- Geometric surface reconfiguration at the Simard Boulevard approach.
The work is expected to be completed in early September, if weather and site conditions are favourable.
The work will be carried out in phases to minimize the inconvenience to area residents. Accordingly, work will be carried out on one side of the median at a time.
- Phase 1: the side going towards Brossard
- Phase 2: the side going towards Simard Boulevard
To help you get around during the work, one lane will be open in each direction on the side of the median where no work is taking place.
With some exceptions, local traffic access will be provided for residents affected by the roadwork.
Access to Plamondon Crescent and Navarre Street will be permitted at all times, except temporarily during the paving operation. This restriction should last a few hours at most.
Access to private entrances on Plamondon Boulevard will also be maintained, except during the reconstruction of the sidewalk in front of the entrance. Generally, this work should take ten working days.
For the duration of the work, it will not be possible to park on Plamondon Boulevard, both in the construction zone and on the side where one lane of traffic is open in each direction.
During this period, you will have to park your car in a nearby street or in your driveway.
The buses of the Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL) on line 13 will not make any stops in the work area. Users are therefore invited to use the bus stop located at the intersection of Simard and Plamondon boulevards.
The RTL will install temporary signage in due course to inform users of this change.
For more information, you can call the RTL’s Customer Service Department at 450-463-0131 from Monday to Friday between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m., as well as on weekends and holidays between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
