Saint-Lambert adopts a new strategic plan for 2021-2025
City Council adopted a new strategic plan for the next five years at its April 19 meeting. In line with the 2014-2018 Strategic Plan, this new plan provides a management framework that will ensure consistency in daily decision making, thus enabling us to stay on track to achieve the goals set.
“This 2021-2025 Strategic Plan establishes the orientations and priorities for our municipality. The aim is ultimately to meet the aspirations of Saint-Lambert residents as best we can, while positioning Ville de Saint-Lambert as an influential actor within the Agglomération de Longueuil and the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal (CMM). The result is an innovative, ambitious and motivating vision that encourages us to work together to build the Saint-Lambert of the future,” explained Mayor Pierre Brodeur.
The strategic plan is designed to reflect both the municipality’s values and the residents’ financial capacity and needs, while allowing the municipal administration to anticipate and address a number of challenges.
“In a context of omnipresent challenges such as climate change, the fit between economic development and sustainable development principles, land use, the maintenance and enhancement of existing infrastructures, and the preservation of cultural vitality and a diversified offer of services, we are confident that the priorities retained will address the concerns of our community, respect the financial framework established, and increase Ville de Saint-Lambert’s reach and influence on the local and provincial levels,” clarified City Manager Georges Pichet.
Ville de Saint-Lambert’s strategic orientations fall under three main focus areas, all reflecting its values and this vision of a city that exerts influence through its dynamism, its innovative practices, and the importance it places on sustainable development principles and the empowerment of its community. Each of the three focus areas is divided into several themes which, in turn, translate into several domains, objectives and concrete action priorities. The latter will be spelled out in an operational plan that is updated annually.
The 2021-2025 Strategic Plan is available on the City’s website.
“We wish to offer our sincere thanks to all the people who were involved, directly or indirectly, in producing our strategic vision for 2021-2025. Thanks to the dedication and strong abilities of the team in place, as well as the local community’s high level of involvement in municipal life, we feel certain that we will succeed in managing the challenges likely to arise within the next few years,” said the city manager.
“During these pivotal years when difficult choices will sometimes have to be made, it will be more important than ever for us to work efficiently and in synergy to ensure the vitality and sustainability of our beautiful city. This strategic plan will provide a foundation for doing so, which in turn will help us preserve the quality of life we cherish and ensure that our community continues to thrive,” concluded the mayor.
