Mayor Pierre Brodeur expresses his great pride in the Saint-Lambert community for its response to the exceptional COVID-19 situation

Monday 6 April 2020

Given the exceptional measures imposed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mayor Pierre Brodeur wishes to say how very proud he is of the Saint-Lambert community and to congratulate residents on their great generosity. Here is what he said:

Maire Pierre Brodeur

“Dear Fellow Citizens,

We are experiencing a crisis that will leave its mark on history and on each and every one of us. During these difficult times, on behalf of myself and my colleagues on City Council, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for your strong community solidarity.

Your dedication and willingness to reach out and help have been evident to me in our phone calls and email exchanges. The City’s call for solidarity has been heard: the call to care of yourself, your family and your neighbours. We have clearly shown that we are a tightly knit community here in Saint-Lambert.

I urge you to stay on this path by continuing to follow government directives, being sure to socially distance ‒ particularly from individuals in isolation ‒ and by encouraging local businesses whenever possible. We must not drop our guard. There is still a long way to go, but our strength depends on all of us continuing to work together.

I would also like to applaud the efforts of our fellow citizens and employees who are on the front line providing essential services. They remain wholeheartedly dedicated to their tasks out of their sense of duty. We sincerely thank them for all they are doing, and can assure them that we will remember their service for many years to come because they are a symbol of pride for Saint-Lambert.

I wish you hope and courage, and leave you with the thought that things will get better.”

Pierre Brodeur, mayor of Saint-Lambert
