To mark World Book and Copyright Day, we’re keeping some great books under wraps!
To mark World Book and Copyright Day, the City of Saint-Lambert, in partnership with the Friends of the Library Foundation, is inviting the library’s young and old patrons to discover the exciting books we’re keeping under wraps!
Initiated by the Friends of the Library Foundation, this activity involves simply choosing a book blind from among a selection of wrapped books. The choice will be difficult, as each book will have been beautifully wrapped by youngsters from the CPE du Mouillepied daycare centre, students from École des Saints-Anges and artists from Maison Desaulniers.
Which prize-winning books will be inside the beautiful wrapping? Participants must borrow the book to find out! These exciting and mysterious books will be available from April 23 to 28, during opening hours.
This activity by the City and the Foundation is intended to provide wonderful literary discoveries and promote the work of many authors. This year, all the books selected were winners of literary awards such as the Prix Goncourt, the Booker Prize, the Governor General’s Literary Awards, the Prix des libraires du Québec and many others.
And to enhance our tribute to World Book and Copyright Day, on April 23, members of the Friends of the Library Foundation and library staff will be offering one hundred roses to patrons. A rose is traditionally given as a gift to mark this event, which is celebrated in more than 80 countries.
