With its Sizzling Summer program, the City of Saint-Lambert promises you a highly entertaining summer!

Thursday 25 June 2020

The City of Saint-Lambert is very pleased to offer a brand-new summer activity program that is adapted to the challenges imposed by the pandemic. Under the Sizzling Summer banner, the program features sports, literary and cultural activities for both young and old. Summer fun guaranteed for everyone.

“We are aware that cultural and recreational activities are important for the vitality of our community and our collective well-being. It therefore gives us great pleasure to bring you a summer activity program with some new offerings, generated by the new measures imposed by the COVID-19 situation. We hope that many of you will come out to enjoy them. We look forward to seeing you there… two metres apart!” explained Mayor Pierre Brodeur.

Culture goes city-wide

The new features will include lively parades throughout the City. All that residents have to do is sit comfortably on their lawns to take in the colourful characters that will meander from street to street on July 11, July 18 and August 1.

Families are also invited to trace the steps taken by the great inventors. In this creative show, families will discover big names that have changed the course of human history through their scientific achievements. In addition, adults will have the opportunity to learn more about local food options at a talk given by a nutritionist.

Always a great hit with families, outdoor movie nights will return this summer on August 18 and August 25, as will the public piano. Virtuoso or amateur musicians will be welcome at Gordon Park to add ambiance to Victoria Avenue with their gentle melodies, for the pleasure of passers-by. The Open Air Museum will also be offering an enriching, ongoing outdoor activity that can be done alone, in the company of friends or with family.

For the love of reading

Brigade B will be back again this summer to treat young and old alike to a variety of literary activities. The menu will range from story hours and reading clubs to an introduction to yoga interspersed with stories and songs for kids of 1 to 5 years and of 6 to 9 years, for the delight of book lovers of all ages.

Let’s get moving!

A number of sports activities, including ZumbaRetired and in shapeAbs-buns-thighs and Pickleball, will give everyone who is eager to get back into action a chance to get rid of all that pent-up energy after weeks of confinement. With the exception of the introductory Pickleball workshops, these activities will be offered on a weekly basis.
