COVID-19 | The City of Saint-Lambert closes access to its parks
In order to limit the spread of COVID-19, the City of Saint-Lambert is closing all its parks, including the dog parks, playgrounds, outdoor sports facilities and community gardens, until further notice.
This measure comes in response to the Quebec government’s decision to ban all indoor and outdoor gatherings.
“We are paying close attention to each new directive issued by the government and are responding accordingly. That is why we have decided to proceed with the closure of our parks. Respecting the rules of social distancing is essential in limiting the spread of the virus, and we are doing everything possible to prevent gatherings,” said Mayor Pierre Brodeur.
Moreover, knowing that the COVID-19 virus can survive for up to 72 hours on plastic and steel surfaces, it is impossible to properly and safely disinfect playgrounds.
The City of Saint-Lambert is therefore asking residents not to use the parks, playgrounds or sports facilities. We are also reminding everyone to keep a distance of 2 metres between themselves and other people at all times.
