The City of Saint-Lambert launches a call for proposals for a public artwork for its roundabout

Thursday 20 February 2020

The City of Saint-Lambert is pleased to launch a call for proposals for a public artwork, to be installed on the roundabout located at the intersection of Simard Boulevard and Riverside Drive.

In accordance with its Politique de gestion et d’acquisition d’œuvres d’art, de patrimoine et d’art public (Policy for the Management and Acquisition of Works of Art, Heritage Collections and Public Art) this competition is part of a process aimed at enriching the City of Saint-Lambert’s collection of public art, promoting the quality of projects undertaken in the urban environment and stimulating the public’s critical faculties.

Inaugurated in December 2017, the roundabout is designed to improve the flow of traffic for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists, while offering significant environmental benefits and contributing to the aesthetics of this important gateway to the city. The goal of the installation will be to enhance the aesthetics, vibrancy and distinctiveness of the site. The artist will also be required to present a proposal for landscaping around the public artwork.

Artists’ applications must be submitted in one single email and be received by April 29, 2020, no later than 4:00 p.m. at the following email address: josee.veronneau@saint-lambert.ca.
