On Thursday, October 24 at 7 p.m. at the library, attend the conference Duplessis et l’Église : du mythe à la réalité. The speaker will be Alexandre Dumas, a historian who holds a PhD in history from McGill University.
Is it conceivable that the Quebec Catholic Church would have had better relations with the Liberal Party than with the Union nationale? Or that the clergy never were Maurice Duplessis’ electoral allies? Historian Alexandre Dumas examines some of the assumptions associated with this period in Quebec’s history known as the Grande Noirceur or Great Darkness.
