The City of Saint-Lambert is inviting citizens to celebrate the Journées de la culture, taking place from September 29 to October 1, by taking part in its open-air photo rally.

This activity offers a new way of discovering the Open Air Museum collection, as it will take the form of a guided tour in the company of Luce Vallières, photographer and co-founder, director of development and operations officer of the Maison de la photo de Montréal. Participants will also be invited to take photographs of the works with their smartphones and share their pics on Instagram in order to create a virtual gallery under the hashtag #museeacielouvertstl.

Also as part of the event, the photographer will offer two workshops, on Saturday and Sunday at 3 p.m., during which she will offer participants tips on how to improve their photographs.

Tour schedule

The guided tours will leave from Mercille Park (in front of the library):

  • Friday, September 29, at 7:30 p.m.;
  • Saturday, September 30, at 10:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.;
  • Sunday, October 1, at 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Each tour will follow one of two themed routes. The first, entitled Terre des Hommes, will focus on the works dealing with humans and their relationship with the Earth; the second, entitled Techniques mixtes et mouvement artistique will let participants discover and understand different art forms through the works along the circuit.

People who wish to take part in one of the tours or photography workshops should complete the following form: Registration is not mandatory.

Independent rally

Citizens can also take the tour by going to Mercille Park, where they can meet the event leaders, who will be on hand on Friday from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and who will explain the route to them.

This activity is made possible thanks to financial support from the Québec government and the City of Saint-Lambert, under the Entente de développement culturel (cultural development agreement) between the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications and our city.
