Eager to ensure the best possible communication with its residents, the City of Saint-Lambert now offers them an additional way to access information fast, no matter where they are, using its brand new Facebook page.

“We invite the many residents already on Facebook every day to opt for this quick and simple means of learning more about their city. We are now counting on the viral effect of the social media to reach more residents and encourage them to participate more actively in community life,” explained City Manager Georges Pichet.

The City will be posting information on its Facebook page about its activities, services and events, as well as important notices and instructions for emergency situations. The Facebook page is thus intended to keep residents better informed and to encourage constructive discussions so that the City can answer their questions and find out their views on issues of concern to them.

However, this page is not an appropriate forum for holding debates, voicing complaints or transmitting requests. Residents may consult the City’s Netiquette. It is intended to preserve a climate of courtesy and an environment conducive to the respectful exchange of views.

While use of the social media implies the notion of speed and immediacy, the City must point out that it can sometimes take longer to reply to certain comments received. The Facebook account will be managed during the office’s normal opening hours and some questions may require more research time.

Residents can now visit the City’s Facebook page at By clicking “Like” on this page, they will have instant access to the latest news.
